This Sunday we will be in Hebrews 11:8-12. In this passage, the author of Hebrews wants us to see the faith of Abraham and Sarah as he uses two distinct acts of faith in their lives to demonstrate how acting on God’s promises, even when they seem impossible, demonstrates our faith and brings God great glory. Remember, faith is defined as the action that flows out of our assurance. When we trust and act on the promises and assurances of God, our lives proceed from faith and we please God. In preparation for our time together on Sunday, here are a three passages to read and a couple of questions to contemplate.
Read Hebrews 11:8-12. Now, read Genesis 12:1-5 and Genesis 17:15-17.
How did Abraham and Sarah demonstrate their faith?
How our our lives similar to theirs… in other words, how does their example apply to our lives today?
