Hebrews 6:1-8 will be our passage this week. It is one of the most important and difficult passages in the entire book of Hebrews. Following the passage about milk and solid food, which Mark walked us through last week, we now are told to “go on to maturity.” Milk is not an option for true believers. Here are a couple questions to get you thinking about the application of the passage:
- There are two possible choices outlined in verse 1. What are they? This requires some thought.
- What are the two possible outcomes outlined in verses 7-8? How are these related to the outcomes in verse 1?
- This passage is a very difficult one theologically. We will deal with the meaning of falling away and how that makes it impossible to be restored to repentance on Sunday. But, understand that this is a very serious warning that goes along with previous warnings not to drift or fall away from God.
